Members of the Hobson’s Choice design team visited the Milan Eurocucina 2024 show to soak up the atmosphere and experience the latest in kitchen, bathroom and living space design.

If you're like me and wondering what to buy for those people in your life who never seem to have a clue about what they might like, I've asked our design team to come up with a few ideas to help.

Our Bath design team was asked by Bath Life magazine to think of three key ingredients that make a kitchen special, which anybody could use without requiring significant structural changes. Here are their thoughts

Our Bath showroom welcomed Iford Maor Kitchen Chef, Matt Briddon, to present his introductory demonstration about the art of Pickling and Fermentation. The evening event was delivered in collaboration with local business Refillable, Bath to an audience of enthusiastic homesteaders.

Richard and Graham were kindly invited by award sponsors Gaggenau to attend the RIBA Southwest Awards event at the historic Bristol Museum. The evening was attended by many different shortlisted architect practices from across the region, each hoping to take home a coveted award.

To provide space for exciting new kitchen displays in each of our showrooms, Bath, Swindon and Winchester, the existing bulthaup b1 kitchens are now available to purchase. Each display is subtly different, designed to reflect the internal showroom surroundings and the showroom locality.

To get into the festive mood our showrooms have been hosting special Christmas cooking demonstrations, courtesy of Gaggenau. The events titled ‘Christmas Classics in Modern Ways’ focused on the growing requirement to cater to different dietary needs when entertaining.

First there was open plan living and now the buzzword is broken plan living. Here we explore the advantages and disadvantages of each and what they mean for today’s living.

The Heritage Kitchen designed by Hobson’s Choice is hand made by expert joiners in Wiltshire. With heritage glass and made using traditional craft techniques the final result is a beautiful bespoke kitchen.

The Craftsman’s Collection is designed by us and manufactured in Wiltshire. It includes three kitchen ranges, The Heritage, Industry and Shaker kitchens. All three are hand built using the best materials available.

Innovative kitchen appliance manufacturer, BORA, brought their ‘Up in the Air’ cooking experience to London during July. Members of the Hobson’s Choice team dined with other invited guests, suspended 100ft above the streets of Lambeth.

The first of our Wine Tasting evenings in collaboration with Vinifera Wine Club took place at our flagship Swindon showroom on Monday 30th April. Wine Expert and Club Founder, Pilar Bazan, presented a collection of wines from Castilla y León, Extremadura and Tuscany to an audience of invited guests.

This year Hobson’s Choice will be a partner of Barbury International, a point-to-point and eventing course near Marlborough, Wiltshire. To introduce ourselves to some of the racing fraternity we hosted an invitation-only evening, supported by Gaggenau, at our flagship Swindon showroom.

Our flagship Swindon showroom hosted a special cookery evening with Sven-Hanson Britt, MasterChef ‘The Professionals’ finalist, and the Miele team on Weds 29 November. Sven created a delicious 3-course meal for our invited guests during the 2-hour demonstration.

After the success of the Miele event with Sven in 2016, we were delighted to welcome the MasterChef Professionals finalist back to our Winchester showroom. Cooking for a group of invited guests, Sven, assisted by Ann-Marie, prepared a 3-course menu showcasing the latest Miele cooking technology.

The second Gaggenau cooking event of our autumn series took place at our Winchester studio, hosted by Home Economist, Allison Sawyer. The evening brought guests from across Hampshire, each keen to find out more about the appliances and how to achieve the best cooking results.

Natasha Townsend, one of our newest Design Consultants based in Bath, visited bulthaup headquarters in Aich, Germany during October to begin her official supplier training.

To celebrate the relaunch of our new flagship showroom in Swindon, Wiltshire the entire space has been mapped in 3D, allowing ‘virtual visitors’ to explore from their computer, tablet or smartphone. CartoConsult, a leader in 2D/3D mapping, created the showroom using innovative new camera technology and the results are fantastic!
