New Role Opportunity – Bathroom Design Consultant

We provide the highest quality design, installation and craftsmanship, in conjunction with using the very best products to provide the best quality service and workmanship. The Company has a strong demand for both Bathroom and Kitchens from our head-office showroom in Swindon. We are therefore recruiting for an experienced Design Consultant to join our talented and creative team.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Bathroom Designer with proven design and sales experience within the UK high-end bathroom market. Designers at Hobson’s Choice can develop to work across both bathroom and kitchen projects so previous design and sales experience across both of these areas would be beneficial but not essential.
The chosen candidate will join a friendly and successful team of Designers and staff at our Head-Office showroom in Swindon. During their introductory period, all new members of the team receive detailed company, product and procedures training. They will also be supported by all relevant members of the Hobson’s Choice team. We are looking for a person who has a real passion for design and who can:
Listen to, understand, challenge and respond to client briefs
Work on a project from concept to completion, demonstrating technical expertise and knowledge regarding design restrictions and challenges.
Be creative, push boundaries and articulate their design ideas to their colleagues and customers
Demonstrate a complete understanding of the design process
Deliver creative ideas professionally through the use of a recognised CAD software. (Experience of Vectorworks and Virtual Worlds would be beneficial but not essential)
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop
Communicate directly with showroom visitors explaining the benefits of the product range and providing guidance and expertise in relation to projects and questions
Successfully achieve sales whilst promoting the design led ethos of our company
Demonstrate a history of being able to negotiate and close the sale with the customer
Demonstrate strong project management skills and experience covering both the design/specification process and the installation phase
Bring with them high end bathroom product knowledge
Provide examples of being capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously and maintaining clear lines of communication between clients, suppliers and their respective seniors
Provide examples of being able to work well within a team of peers as well as individually
Offer the flexibility to travel to training or clients whom are slightly further afield, with some overnight stays (typically only for training or visits to international design fairs)
Provide a full driving license
Demonstrate computer literacy
The Detail
Working Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm Saturday: 10:00am – 5:00pm
Requirement to work 5 of the 6 days to include most Saturdays, with a day off during the week in lieu. Evening appointments and support of evening customer events will be required from time to time, as dictated by our client’s demands.
