What are the Benefits of an Extra Large (XL) Dishwasher?

We would recommend our clients choose an XL dishwasher over a standard-size unit for one main reason, the increased load capacity.

Large-Rate Capacity

A standard-sized dishwasher can typically accommodate 12 place settings of washing. In comparison, due to the larger interior tub, a large-capacity dishwasher will be capable of washing between 12 and 15 settings in one cycle.

Thus, a dishwasher with a large-rated capacity allows you to clean more dishes at once, which can save time and reduce water and energy consumption. Additionally, a larger capacity dishwasher may have more powerful jets and sprayers, ensuring more thorough cleaning of your dishes.

CUTLERY DRAWER

Whilst a cutlery drawer isn’t exclusive to XL dishwashers, the extra 5cm of height does ensure the drawer doesn’t impact the crockery space below. For the user, the finished quality of the cleaning and the increased speed of the unloading workflow are key benefits.

The separation and position of each cutlery item make certain every piece is cleaned and able to dry fully. This helps to maintain the hygiene of the utensils and reduces the risk of cross-contamination.

In addition, if you are disciplined enough to group cutlery together as you load, it makes the experience of putting everything away so much quicker and easier.

KITCHEN DESIGN

Being 5cm taller than a standard dishwasher, an XL dishwasher can be a better fit beneath higher countertops, making the most of the available kitchen space.

Should loading/unloading a dishwasher be more of a concern for the end user, your designer may recommend raising the appliance height by integrating the unit into a tall cabinet.

A touch or knock-to-open door can further enhance the dishwasher's ergonomics, removing the need to pull on a handle.
