The Brief
The kitchen was to form part of a redevelopment of a London property by Studio Indigo, an accomplished Architects practice based in the city. The brief was to create a space that would provide the future owners with a ‘showstopping’ kitchen that combined the very best appliances with sleek, modern design.
The Design
“Hobson’s Choice are a joy to deal with. They set the benchmark for all other kitchen designers, offering extremely good value for money and excellent design skills. They are very adaptive to clients’ needs, always flexible and willing, and a pleasure to deal with. They make life easy for me.”
The kitchen was to incorporate a seated area to allow for social interactions with the cook, functional storage space and smoothly flow into the adjoining living space. To create the modern look required by the client we chose to blend bulthaup b3 furniture with a bulthaup b2 workbench.
The choice of clean white lacquer fronts with aluminium edging emphasises the shut lines and provides a strong, structural feel to the furniture arrangement. A darker, narrow, contrasting composite stone worktop accentuates the horizontal lines leading the eye around the room.
The result
Finished in stainless steel, the bulthaup b2 workbench provides an interesting focus point for the room illuminated by decorative Tobias Grau LED lighting.
Carl Hansen CH56 stools complete the room allowing guests to take a seat and chat over a glass of wine whilst dinner is prepared.
