The Brief
When purchasing a home within a new, upscale development nestled in Winchester's heart, our client wished to create an integrated living space that offered areas for cooking, dining and relaxing.
The Design
The bespoke Bulthaup b3 kitchen serves as a versatile hub for both cooking and dining, courtesy of its island extension table arrangement, elegantly finished in black-brown oak veneer. This same dark oak veneer also adorns the wall unit, creating a subtle visual connection that ties the spaces together seamlessly.
With windows wrapping around three sides of the living space, plenty of natural light and elevated views across Winchester city centre become part of your everyday backdrop. This generous illumination plays on the golden aluminium wall panels, part of the b3 kitchen system, reflecting light into the room.
Beyond their aesthetics, these panels bring practical benefits to the kitchen. The surfaces, including those behind the sink, feature an innovative seal system that removes the need for silicone sealant.
These panels also provide an opportunity to incorporate a range of bulthaup b3 storage accessories, like the kitchen towel holder shown in the images. Adjusting these accessories to your liking is easy—just lift the lightweight frame and move it along the panel edge.
The stainless steel sink is expertly bonded into the 10mm thick laminate worktop during production at the bulthaup factory. This design ensures watertight edges without the requirement of silicone.
A Quooker Pro3 Flex instant boiling-hot water tap adds a practical touch, freeing up valuable work surface space by eliminating the need for a kettle.
The kitchen island boasts pull-out storage on each side, effectively utilising the space at hand. A discreet grip rail running along the top of the doors not only facilitates access but also upholds the seamless, handle-free design.
Within this moderately sized room, maintaining an uncluttered ceiling imparts an enhanced feeling of spaciousness and verticality to the occupants. The inclusion of the BORA Pure cooktop, equipped with integrated downdraft extraction, negates the necessity for an overhead hood. This strategic choice ensures air cleanliness during cooking without compromising on visual and spatial aesthetics.
A collection of integrated appliances embraces bulthaup Clay laminate fronts, offering a warm tone that complements the surroundings.
For added practicality, slim bulthaup b3 handles offer an ergonomically optimised grip to effortlessly access the Miele fridge and freezer, elegantly flanking the central ovens.
In the foreground, an integrated wine cooler tends to our client’s cherished collection and ensures each bottle is perfectly poised for sharing with loved ones around the neighbouring dining table.
The integrated cooking, dining, and living area's uncluttered and streamlined aesthetic finds its perfect complement in the Rimadesio Self wall-hung cabinet.
This meticulously crafted contemporary Italian furniture piece, finished in a matte coffee-brown glass surface, introduces an element of understated elegance that seamlessly aligns with the enduring design ethos of the bulthaup b3 kitchen.
